So so lucky

I try each day to recognise how lucky we are. A lot of luck but plenty of planning risk taking and hard work of course got us to where we are. As life sometimes gets harder to reflect on how we live can be a balm to the soul.

I have a sticker on one of my bikes that says  - "when life gets complicated - I ride" and I do some of my best reflections and thinking while out on my bikes. So we are 24th April and after the dentist in the AM I am onto the boiler parts replacement. All done and fingers crossed sorted the issue

I took myself off on my new to me Royal Enfield Classic 350 cc single air cooled bike. it is a thing of beauty to look at to ride and to own. I've spend a few hours replacing the seats to make it pillion friendly and little legs compliant !

For my record this was a beautiful ride

Through Ipstones and up Blakelow road  - great views across Leek

Another stop at Morridge viewpoint overlooking Hen Cloud, the Roaches and Ramshaw rocks. On a clear day you can see Jodrell Bank radio telescope and Manchester high rises from here.

Looking north west to the Mermaid's  pool

Another stop at Flash - I still find it surreal in all of mainland Britain we live so close to the highest village

Across some knarley lanes to the little honesty cafe at Hollinsclough

I had it all to myself and the quiet was all enveloping quite a moment for reflection and sublime enjoyment.

The only sound worthy of disturbing the peace was the pop pop pop of the Classic 350's single cylinder engine as i started it up for the 15 mile return trip home.
