We all have them but it's frustrating when a situation is out of your control especially when you have put much effort into making it 'all work'.
We had a quiet night on the mooting near little Onn... when I prepped the boat I was surprised at the amount of detritus on the roof from the nearby trees.... it was forecast windy latet so I left it to nature to clean up its mess on my roof.
Then a gentle potter to Gnosall where we stopped for a drink and a walk to the coop for supplies and petrol for the genny.
We then came up to the canal festival at Norbury where there were boats for as far as the eye could see... all very scenic. We stopped and used the elsan before leaving the party and headed back to peace. As I approached our new mooring I called the farmer who told me the mooring we had booked still had a boat on it as the boater had engine problems. The tow path telegraph had told me a slightly different story but between the two there will be some truth.
We were offered an alternative which we reversed back to with scepticism as it looked short and indeed it was... we didn't fit. Turns out it was occupied by a 57 foot boat who took another mooring on the stretch recently. So we gladly squatted on out friends mooring past bridge 44 as shes away for blacking and we shall await further contact..... it might be Overwater marina at this rate, we are mooringless.
Final sad reflection a popular motorbike Youtuber passed away this week. He was planning all sorts and full of life in September last year.... diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in the New Year.
RIP Old Man Ronin. Life can be joyful but so easily shit in short order.
